There’s a line I love from William Strunk Jr’s, 1918 classic, Elements of Style, where he said, “Vigorous writing is concise. A sentence should contain no unnecessary words, a paragraph no unnecessary sentences, for the same reason that a drawing should have no unnecessary lines and a machine no unnecessary parts.”

In the spirit of being concise and removing any “unnecessary parts” we are pleased to announce a change in our name to JUMP. No extra J or P, just JUMP. It’s spelled just like you’d expect when you hear the name JUMP.

Wait, wasn’t it already pronounced JUMP, anyway? Well, yeah, that’s the point. We pride ourselves in building easy-to-use software to help business owners manage their online presence. By design, we keep things simple, and even though our tools are powerful and drive huge results, we are relentless about stripping out any non-essentials. We don’t add a lot of extra features just for the sake of having more. We decided it was time to do the same with our name.

We’re dropping a couple extra letters to keep it short and sweet. No more spelling out our name every time we meet someone new, or having to gently correct when someone calls us “Jay-Jump” or even worse, “J-Jump-P.” We’re keeping it simple because that’s how we roll.

Sometimes you’ve got to trim things down and simplify to take a big step forward. That’s what we’re doing here. We’ve been growing fast and we know that some people liked the old, non-standard spelling (bless your heart), but we’re gearing up for something big here and we decided that we needed to go small to make it big. Sometimes less is more, right?
